JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Arrange and break down tables, chairs, linens, staging, bars, and other event equipment.
  • Set up banquet rooms and event spaces according to event orders, floor plans, and direction from Banquet Management.
  • Assist with room turnovers between events, including clearing, cleaning, and resetting rooms promptly.
  • Move furniture, equipment and supplies as needed to prepare for meetings, banquets, conferences, weddings and other special events.
  • Ensure banquet rooms and event spaces are clean, organized and properly maintained before, during and after events.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of buffet stations, beverage stations and other food and beverage service areas.
  • Maintain appropriate storage and organization of banquet equipment, furniture, and supplies.
  • Inspect tables, chairs, and equipment for cleanliness and damage and report any maintenance or safety concerns to management.
  • Assist Banquet Servers and other team members as needed to ensure the smooth execution of events.
  • Respond promptly to last-minute setup changes and guest or operational needs.
  • Follow all Delaware Park policies and procedures, including safety, sanitation, and proper lifting procedures.
  • Maintain a professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude while working with guests, vendors, and fellow team members.
  • Maintain professionalism when working with other team members and/or guests.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by the Banquet Manager. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to complete the background check and licensing process, required by the Delaware Lottery.
  • Previous experience in banquets, hospitality, events, housekeeping, food and beverage, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including banquet event orders and room setup diagrams.
  • Must be able to walk and stand for at least a full eight (8)-hour shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. in weight and ability to bend, reach, pull, push, kneel, squat, and grasp as needed.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule according to business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Zone assignments cover large areas with long walking distances. Work areas could have high volumes, diverse clientele, noise, music, minimal and/or bright lighting, and variation in climate control.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers, and management is mandatory.
